ADB congratulated the Coastal and Marine Resources Management in the Coral Triangle-Southeast Asia (CTI-SEA) project for its significant progress in carrying out activities during the 3rd Project Implementation Review Meeting held at the Aston Hotel in Manado, Indonesia on 8 June 2015. The CTI-SEA regional technical assistance, which covers Indonesia, Malaysia, and the Philippines, is one of the largest, if not the largest, ADB technical assistance for the Coral Triangle. PRIMEX President and CEO Elvira C. Ablaza and Executive Vice President and CTI-SEA Team Leader Guillermo “Emong” L. Morales co-chaired the annual meeting with consultants from the Regional Project Management Office as well as representatives from its associate firms, WorldFish and PT Trans Intra Asia (TIA).

She also stressed that the innovations of the project should be widely shared, such as the achievements of the Philippine Project Management Unit in its climate change adaptation activities and the pilot-testing of a payment for ecosystem services scheme through coral and giant clam gardening in Taytay, Palawan. Ms. Marissa Garcia, ADB consultant and M&E Coordinator, also noted that the Indonesia and Malaysia Project Management Units have moved forward significantly in implementing activities since the team’s last meeting in Kota Kinabalu, Sabah, Malaysia in February 2015. “Sustainability should now be built in the plans because there is only a year left,” she said.
