The Public Private Partnership Center of the Philippines (PPPC), through its Project Development and Monitoring Facility (PDMF), hosted its first sounding activity for two priority projects which will be implemented by the Department of Transportation (DoTr). These two projects are the NCR Busway Project and the North City Long Haul Inter-Regional Railway Project. The sounding activity was held last 11 November 2022.
The sounding activity aimed to gather feedback from consultants on the tenders which are to be launched next year. The PDMF will be holding more sounding activities in the future and envisions a more dynamic and collaborative partnership with consultancy firms in developing TORs of upcoming tenders.
According to DoTr Assistant Secretary Leonel de Velez, the DoTr is working towards the realization of more projects in the transport sector, which are in line with the current administration’s program of Build Better More (BBM). The DoTr aims to diversify funding among various international financing institutions (IFIs) and use overseas development aid (ODA) financing as well as PPPs which will be developed through the PPPC.
Various representatives from the technical assistance panel of consultants attended the activity. Some of the members of the consultant panel are Ernst and Young, Rebel, and PwC.
Ms. Ana Baluyut, Senior Manager for Business Development, attended the activity on behalf of the BDO (UK)- DT Global-PRIMEX consortium, which recently inked a contract amendment for the Re-study of the San Ramon Port Project with DT Global.
