PRIMEX wins sub-consultancy to support the Dhaka Mass Rapid Transit Development Project in Bangladesh

PRIMEX is providing the services of a Lead International Resettlement Expert (Mr. Michael Alcazaren) and an international Procurement Expert (Engr. Rolito Rillo) for the Dhaka Mass Rapid Transit Development Project (Line 5, Southern Route) in Bangladesh. This assignment is a sub-consultancy under the Consortium of Egis (Lead Firm), SMEC, and Oriental Consultants Global Co., Ltd. (OCG) from 15 April 2021 to 31 March 2023. 

The three-year assignment will involve the (i) preparation of a feasibility study with engineering design framework, (ii) development of engineering design packages based on the said framework, and (iii) provision of procurement support and review management, operational, and maintenance requirements. The project is funded by the Asian Development Bank (ADB) with the with the Dhaka Mass Transit Company Limited of the Ministry of Road Transport and Bridges as the executing agency.

The project will ease traffic congestion and improve air pollution in Dhaka City by building a 17.4-kilometer railway from Gabtoli in the west side to Dasherkandi in the east side. The mass rapid transit system will help the Greater Dhaka Region achieve economic and social development and improve the urban environment.

PRIMEX ventured into infrastructure projects in 2012.
