PRIMEX officers sit as judges at Enactus Philippines National Finals

PRIMEX senior officers served as judges at the Enactus Philippines National Finals held on 9 July 2016 at the SMX Convention Center, Mall of Asia, Pasay City. Mr. Donald E. Loyloy, PRIMEX Vice President for Finance and Administration, and Mr. Nestor P. Escara, Manager for Project Operations, joined the panel of more than 50 judges in evaluating the quality and impacts of community projects of participating colleges and universities nationwide. The panel of judges included representatives from leading firms in the business sector, such as AG&P, EEI Corporation, Philippine Airlines, Unilever, and Globe Telecom, among others,

Enactus Chairman Jose P. Leviste, Jr. welcomed the participants to the one-day event, which brought together students and academic leaders from different colleges and universities in the Philippines to showcase 13 community projects.

After the semi-final round in the morning, four teams of students were selected to compete in the final round in the afternoon.

Mariano Marcos State University (MMSU) of Ilocos Norte emerged as the 2016 Enactus Philippines Champion. The MMSU Team, representing the Philippines, will compete with 35 other countries at the Enactus World Cup 2016 to be held in September in Toronto, Canada.

Other winners included the University of the Philippines at Los Banos (UPLB), First Runner-up; Holy Trinity College of General Santos City, Second Runner-up; and Sultan Kudarat State University, Third Runner-up.

Enactus is an international non-profit organization that works with student, academic, and business leaders dedicated to mobilize university students to make a difference in their communities while developing the skills to become socially responsible business leaders. It is present in 36 countries and more than 1,740 universities with almost 70,000 active student members worldwide.
