PRIMEX, in partnership with OIDCI, CEST, and EDCOP, won the project “Formulation of a Sustainable Urban Infrastructure Development in Vigan City,” which is funded by the National Economic and Development Authority (NEDA). It will be implemented from January 2019 to July 2020.
The project aims to steer the city to become a center for tourism, commerce, health, and education for the province. With tourism as the focus, the city will provide the necessary impetus to drive the economic development of the Ilocos Sur province and the Ilocos Region.
“PRIMEX is currently implementing five projects under NEDA on sustainable urban infrastructure development. We have mobilized consultant teams not only in Vigan City but also in Ormoc, General Santos, Tuguegarao, Metro Iloilo, and Bacolod. They have been working closely with NEDA’s regional offices and the Regional Development Councils (RDC) to prepare master plans that are aligned with the needs and vision of the cities.”.

The Master Plan for Metro Vigan will serve as a guide for decision-makers in the preparation and approval of programs, projects, and activities for implementation in the urban growth center. The plans will also consider the preservation of the city’s heritage.
In Vigan City, the RDC Region 1 endorsed the Metro Vigan Master Plan on 26 February 2020. Team Leader Arch. Oscar Molina presented it in San Fernando City, La Union. He was accompanied by Engr. Gutierrez and Deputy Team Leader Ms. Corina Manansala. Earlier in February, the Consulting Planning Team also received the endorsements from Ilocos Sur Governor and the Mayors of Metro Vigan.
