Recognized as the Most Influential Businesswoman in Consulting, Philippines, by the Asia-Pacific (APAC) Insider Awards in 2017, Ms. Elvira C. Ablaza, PRIMEX President and CEO, recently spoke at the 2019 Australian International Development Opportunities Forum held at the Joy-Nostalg Hotel and Suites in Ortigas Center, Pasig City on 26 March 2019. The forum was organized by the Australian Trade and Investment Commission (Austrade) for the 50-plus Australian delegation to the ADB Business Opportunities Fair (BOF) held on 27-28 March 2019.
Ms. Ablaza joined three other Filipino panelists who presented opportunities for Australian companies interested in participating in Philippine projects, particularly those in the infrastructure sector under the current Administration’s Build Build Build Program. She represented the Philippine consulting industry.
“I am very proud to say that as a small Philippine company, we have been able to penetrate ADB and not only in the Philippines, but also in the region”, Ms. Ablaza said.
She highlighted the value of partnership in getting into a new country or sector, citing the success of PRIMEX, the firm she founded 30 years ago, in venturing into 34 countries in the Asia-Pacific region, including Central Asia.
Other success factors she mentioned are high-level management involvement in project implementation, flexibility and quick response to the client’s requests, and the familiarity with the client’s requirements, guidelines and procedures.
PRIMEX is currently implementing 44 projects in 13 countries with a total contract value of $22 million.
