PRIMEX President and CEO Elvira C. Ablaza and Executive Vice President Guillermo L. Morales received a plaque of appreciation from Bishop Reuben M. Abante, Chairman of The Great Lighthouse Foundation (TGLF) on 22 March 2016 at the Bayanihan Center of UNILAB.
The company was honored for actively supporting the education of economically-challenged elementary students in Barangay Tatalon, one of the densely populated urban poor areas of Quezon City.
The awarding ceremony was part of the Lighthouse Bible Baptist Church’s (LBBC) 40th victory celebration. TGLF is the arm of LBBC for its community outreach ministry which includes education, scholarships and study now-pay later plan, medical missions, sports for the youth, assistance during calamities, and assistance in times of need of individuals (blood donations, financial assistance for medical costs, and funeral assistance).
Since 2012, PRIMEX has been contributing financially mostly to the Great Lighthouse Academy Scholarship Support (GLASS). GLASS is a pool of funds from various donors to finance the education of selected elementary students from Tatalon. The program supported 36 scholars in schoolyear 2015 to 2016. Aside from this, PRIMEX has also sponsored 3 bi-annual song-writing competitions with themes on spreading the gospel.
