PRIMEX President and CEO Elvira C. Ablaza attended the 48th Annual Meeting of the Board of Governors of the Asian Development Bank (ADB) held at the Heydar Aliyev Center in Baku, Azerbaijan from 2-5 May 2015.
The four-day meeting, with an overall theme of “Fostering Partnership for Development,” was attended by 3,000 participants, which included senior officials, business leaders, investors, financiers, journalists, and civil society representatives from all over the world. The meeting staged several seminars, which, among others, emphasized the importance of leveraging sources and improved coordination between ADB and its member and other multilateral and bilateral partners.
Ms. Ablaza attended several seminars/panel discussions, including Lessons in Disaster: Creating Resilient Communities; How Safeguard Policies of Selected Multilateral Development Banks (MDBs) Impact on Development Financing; Challenges and Opportunities for Livable Asian Cities; Affordable, Accessible Healthcare for All; ICT for Inclusive Development, Impacts of Infrastructure Financing on Grassroots Communities; and Economics of Gender Equity.
She was also present at the formal Opening Session of the Governors’ Meeting, which featured speeches by the President of Azerbaijan and the ADB President.
