PRIMEX deeply grieves the passing of Atty. Pura Angelica “Chinky” Y. Santiago, Director and Corporate Secretary, due to complications from cancer on 15 October 2015.
She is a beloved member of the PRIMEX family, an esteemed colleague, and a cherished friend. Atty. Santiago was the Managing Partner of the Santiago, Cruz, and Associates Law Offices.
In 1997, she joined the PRIMEX Board of Directors with the engagement of their law firm as Legal Counsel. She was a distinguished lawyer who received training from her father, the late Atty. Francisco B. Santiago, a well-respected member of the legal profession and Member of the Judicial and Bar Council, and from her mother, retired Supreme Court Justice Consuelo Ynares-Santiago.
She served as Governor of the Integrated Bar of the Philippines (IBP) representing the Southern Luzon region from 2003-2005 and as National Director of the Commission for Bar Discipline of the IBP. For the past 18 years, Atty. Santiago provided PRIMEX not only with legal advice but also with encouragement, inspiration, and cheer even as she was facing her own health challenges.
Her presence during PRIMEX’s 26th-anniversary celebration in August 2015 made the gathering extra special because she shared how happy she was. PRIMEX joins her family and her loved ones in prayer in this difficult time of transition. Atty. Santiago will be greatly missed but never forgotten.
