The Asian Development Bank (ADB) awarded PRIMEX the contract to implement the Project Preparatory Technical Assistance (PPTA) for the “Strengthening Secondary Education and the Teaching of Math and Science”  in Cambodia on 3 September 2015.

The grant was given to the Royal Government of Cambodia (RGOC), through the Ministry of Education, Youth, and Sport (MOEYS). PRIMEX is implementing the PPTA in association with CADTIS Consultant Co. Ltd. (Cambodia) and the International Development Center of Japan (IDCJ). It will run from 7 September 2015 to 31 July 2016. An ADB inception review mission is planned for 5-9 October 2015, and an Inception Workshop will be held during that week.

“This PPTA is a welcome addition to our projects and to our education portfolio, in particular. It is also an important milestone for us, being our first PRIMEX-led PPTA in Cambodia. We started in Viet Nam and now we are stepping into Cambodia. We are confident that with our consultant team and our partnership with CADTIS and IDCJ, we will do an excellent job.”

Ms. Elvira C. Ablaza, PRIMEX President and CEO

The PPTA will help design a sector development program suitable for ADB financing while considering the needs of Cambodia and ADB’s country partnership strategy with the country. The TA will also identify education reform agenda items through a review and analysis of relevant policies, systems, and institutional capacities.
