Sector Experience
Since 1998, PRIMEX has provided technical assistance to government executing agencies in the management of several multi-year, multimillion-dollar coastal resources and marine resource management projects financed by ADB, JBIC, and USAID in the Philippines and the region.
Foremost among these projects is the US$10.5-million Regional Technical Assistance for Strengthening Coastal and Marine Resource Management in the Coral Triangle – Southeast Asia (TA 7813-REG), covering Indonesia, Malaysia, and the Philippines, which started in August 2012 and will be completed in December 2017.
Conservation-based livelihood development and capacity building of coastal and upland communities in biodiversity conservation have been important components of most of the natural resource management projects designed and implemented by PRIMEX in the last two decades.
PRIMEX has also worked with various government agencies in the conduct of participatory climate change vulnerability assessment and the planning and implementation of community-based climate change adaptation interventions such as mangrove reforestation in coastal areas.
